My old man

Father's Day is just around the corner, and usually none of us would do anything to glorify our old man, even for just a day.

You see, there was a time when I didn't agree with my father's ways. He would come bk from work, look around the place and it seemed to me he would be tryin to find sth in his sight to screw ANYONE. The shoes aren't in place, tables in a mess, no one washed the dishes.. etc etc.. I would go up to my room n shut myself in there just so to avoid him.. I don't know.. It hurts to see someone u've been tryin to please for ur whole life, disappointed in you.. n the fact that it was over such little things made me even more frustrated with myself.. make sense?

So over time, I'm ashamed to say that I've grown to dislike my old man. Dislike is too weak a word. Think: I can't stand talkin to him. Everything that comes outta his mouth is a personal insult, which not only can be very damaging to my self-esteem, but it hurts. Maybe I should have been more mature about it and not be so sensitive. I guess i kinda.. u know.. it's easier to resent another person than yourself..

i love to look at old photos. there was this faded one i like in particular.. dad was liftin me high up and i was lookin into the camera with the happiest grin i've ever seen on my face.. i was his little angel then, n he looked so proud of me..

I'm all grown up now. i think Dad is one of the most misunderstood father in the whole world. Everything he did.. Maybe he was wrong before, but humans aren't perfect. One of my greatest mistake was to think, even for a second, that he didn't love me.

Because he does. He loves me.
And maybe I won't get the handphone, or a new cupboard, or anything I've been pressin him for the past few years. But to hell with all those. I mean, to hell with my stupidity and my inability to look beyond wut I see.

He loves me. And this is one of the most wonderful knowledge anyone can have in their lives. I just can't believe how blind I was.

God I'm gettin mushy here, but I love him too. He did the most wonderful thing that any daughter could ever wished for from their old man.. I just love him so much..
